CUSTOM RESIDENCE IN UPSTATE, NY
Nestled in the woods of the Catskills area stands a small cabin in an quaint opening clearing. The place is new, yet feels like it belongs. The residence features locally sourced and fabricated charred dark wooden rain screen, thoughtful insulation, passive house techniques for thermal and sun-lit delight, and renewable resources such as photo-voltaic system, water retention pods for rain harvesting, and natural ponds with native landscaping.
The owners and MD believe that nature is the very heart of everything. That it’s spirit ought to be felt inside and out. This vernacular residence achieves that harmony in which we sought. It’s as if the house was always supposed to be there.
Construction Completed July 1, 2017. First weekend was the long 4th of July - it's one for the books for the small family. They've been up there ever since then.
